Thetford Garden Centre was founded in the town centre in 1982 by Jean & Paul Nixon. With no previous experience in retail or horticulture they managed to build up a thriving business.

Operating out of old vehicle servicing units, a large greenhouse was quickly added and the business began to establish itself in the town. The business soon out grew the make-shift premises and ten years later a move to a purpose built store on the edge of Thetford was completed.
